NEW GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCEMENT
Chief Executive Carrie Lam has announced that Hong Kong will shorten its 21-day quarantine requirement for incoming travellers to two weeks from February 5 given the much shorter incubation period of the Omicron variant.
Here are the latest updates:
- Existing social-distancing curbs would remain in place until February 17.
- In-person school classes will remain suspended for two more weeks until February 21.
- Hong Kong will shorten its 21-day quarantine requirement for incoming travellers to two weeks starting from February 5.
Flight ban from eight major countries, comprising Australia, Canada, France, India, Pakistan, the Philippines, Britain and the United States will be extended for another two weeks until February 18.
